Split Squats VS Back Squats & Lunges : What’s the difference?

Some interesting info! Here’s a quick summary for the 30sec attention spanders out there :

1) Split squats use decreased weight and trunk lean than back squats, which may → less erector spinae activation and muscle force = possibly less load placed on your spine.

2) More hip dominant than back squats, and involve increased hamstrings but decreased quads activation = increased posterior vs anterior chain recruitment.

3) Due to the staggered stance they produce increased glute medius activation than back squats, but is decreased compared to lunges, likely due to the lesser demands of balance = can improve hip stability as well
