Intermediate Stage Ankle Rehab

Progressing on from our previous post on beginner stage rehab comes today's post! By this stage we like to put an emphasis on keeping the rehab fun and engaging as anything else. This means trying to think outside the box when challenging stability, strength, endurance and power!

Give these battlerope exercises a go to mix up your ankle rehab or if trying to improve your single leg balance and stability. They are a lot more difficult than it looks! (check the video here) 1) Single leg balance with rope slam variations (challenges sagittal plane stability) 2) Single leg balance with hip to hip slams (challenges rotational stability)

3) Single leg lateral hops with slams (adds a plyometric component for increased demands for dynamic lateral stabilisation) Benefits of using the ropes is that they will act as an external perturbation to further challenge your balance/stability, add a multitasking component and are great for getting your HR up!
