Beginner Hip Mobility!

Wanting to work on your hip mobility but don’t know where to start ?

Well… This post is for you!

This post showcases some exercises which are designed to be a gentle entry into hip movement.

Why is hip mobility important?

1️⃣ The hip is a very complex joint. It flexes, extends and rotates inwards/outwards

2️⃣ It is arguably the most important joint of our lower limb and plays a pivotal role in any of our lower limb movements.

3️⃣ Having mobile hips can improve the function of our hip, which in turn can help reduce pain. Having optimal mobility can also improve the efficiency of the hip joint and in turn prevent injury to our lower limbs.

🎥 Exercises:

1️⃣ Active IR - bringing your ankle up and over a kettlebell

2️⃣ Active ER - brining your knee up/out to the side without letting your hips roll

3️⃣ Passive IR - pivoting from your knee and pulling the band outwards

4️⃣ Passive ER - pivoting from your knee and pulling the band inwards

5️⃣ Active flexion and extension stretch
