Neck Rehab: 6 Exercises
Suffering From Neck Pain/Discomfort?
First of all, neck pain can be multifactorial and sometimes isn’t caused by what your MRI says. So, the rehab and treatment approach you’re receiving should always differ from your mate down the street with neck pain, and focus on YOUR muscular/movement dysfunctions, posture, lifestyle habits, mobility restrictions, and include an educational, psychosocial approach, etc.
This post is a quick insight and includes 6 exercise examples taken from our online rehab program library that we tend to prescribe THROUGHOUT the neck rehab process, patient dependent. They focus on either building up localised strength and resiliency of the muscles in your neck, weight-bearing strengthening exercises to begin baseline posture retraining of the neck, as well as a stretch for a common tight area in order to help decrease neck tension.
1. STANDING TB CHIN TUCK
2. STANDING TB LATERAL FLEXION
3. MINI HEAD PRESSES
4. MINI HEAD LIFTS
5. LEVATOR SCAP STRETCH
6. HIGH HEIGHT DOUBLE ARM TB ROW
Give these a go and see if they help! If not, don’t worry… you may just need a treatment approach more specific to you! Reach out to one of our caring and friendly Chatswood, North Sydney or Sydney CBD Physiotherapist to start getting help. You’ll be glad you did!
